Our next webinar will take place on Wednesday 14th May 2025 1:00pm – 2:00pm and will look at social work with people suffering from mental ill-health. We are concerned that the pressure on social work and mental health services means that often needs cannot be met or met on time.
Seb Monteux, Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at Abertay University will explore approaches to understanding and responding to mental health issues, highlighting the appeal—and potential pitfalls—of trauma-informed practice and other ‘master theories’ that risk oversimplifying complex social challenges.
SWIG member and mental health social worker Roger Ridley will speak on the challenges for front-line social workers.
