Local Government Pay Offer Rejected
Local Government Pay Offer Rejected
UNISON’s Local Government Committee met yesterday to consider the employers’ pay offer made on 17 February 2025 – and unanimously rejected it.
This offer falls far short of what our members deserve:

No real progress on pay restoration – after 15 years of falling wages, some workers have lost nearly 25% of their pay in real terms.

Fails to deliver a minimum of £15 per hour, leaving too many struggling.

Rising inflation means this offer would see wages stand still or fall further in real terms.
UNISON remains committed to negotiating a fair deal – but what’s currently on the table is not acceptable.
We need an offer that delivers a real pay rise for all local government workers.
