Heart Unions Week 2025

Heart Unions Week is all about building a stronger union movement – telling positive stories of change and sharing the many benefits of union membership.

This year, as well as celebrating local wins and putting members at the heart of our communications, a great focus for UNISON is our campaign around the Employment Rights Bill. We’ve branded it ‘A better life at work’ and you can find all the latest news here.

As part of your Heart Unions / Heart UNISON activities, you could…

• Print Valentine’s cards to give out to members (print double sided and select ‘flip on long edge’)
• Show or share our short film introducing the broad themes of the bill
• Invite members to play ‘A better life at work’ bingo, to help them learn about the wide range of new provisions that will come into play
• Invite members to play the ‘A better life at work’ quiz
• Share social media posts and videos about Heart Unions and the Employment Rights Bill (use hashtags to join the conversation #ABetterLifeAtWork / #HeartUnions / #HeartUNISON )
• Branded Heart UNISON materials are available to order from the UNISON Shop, and you can find more resources from the TUC’sHeart Unions page.

None of these activities replace powerful one-to-one organising conversations that seek to understand what angers and motivates members and potential members – but Heart Unions Week is a fantastic opportunity for us to spread the love about union membership and ultimately showcase what members can and do achieve when they join together in UNISON!
